My Take on HelloHealth

User Experience

HelloHealth has an excellent UI that is clean and very intuitive.  This is important to me and a focus of this website since most UI’s for EMR’s are the absolute last priority.  Problem is, providers are now avid fanatics for a good user experience (sorry Epic).   I derive this from a personal experience in the health industry.  I have always worked in clinical settings for providers who loved Macs.  They loved the simple design and user experience of the Mac OS far more than Windows.   However, IT staff love their MSFT technology stack making providers often times grumpy.   Then came EMR providers who said, “this is a clinical application, lets not focus on user experience but overload the hell out of it with features because doctors love features”.  Wrong.   Doctors love simple interfaces that just work.

HelloHealth has a simple user experience and is in my opinion very clean and user friendly.   They have a free patient portal that has a “freemium” concept which is a bit odd since I have never seen a consumer upgrade to a paid health model on an EMR/PHR but who knows, there is a first for everything.

Functionality

HelloHealth has some great functionality that checks all the boxes for MU.  One area that I think needs improvement is the  ability to leverage a better codified structure with human language taxonomy tied to the terms a patient enters.  There is bi-directional communication and care teams but I did not see a high level of permission and sharing framework (at least a granular level) but do have basic sharing preferences.

Bottom Line

I highly recommend checking out HelloHealth as an option.  The pricing seems right on the money and the technology is new.  The user experience is solid and a great start to a strong SaaS product.

  1. Why isn’t there an android version of the app? Why not make a mobile compatible site instead? It is very frustrating that I cannot log in with my android phone.

  2. Hello,

Great website, and of course I am delighted to see our company at the top of the list. That said, I am very concerned about the support rating that Hello Health received. We believe that we are much better than that. Who can I speak to about this rating? Perhaps there was an error, or this rating was the result of a miscommunication?

Thank you for your prompt reply.

    1. I would recommend getting current customers to provide responses to this comment with what they would rate HelloHealth in each category. Only through this clinical input can we update the results.

  3. Looks great, but GOOD LUCK getting a response from them. Took 6 WEEKS for them to respond that they couldn’t work with us. Pathetic.
